“Enjoy a good book, on us,” said the notification pushed to Apple Books users, who can now download classics like Winnie the Pooh or H. G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds.
The offering comes at a time when countries all around the world make their citizens stay at home due to the coronavirus outbreak. Apple Books has dedicated a special section to the promotion, but the collection of books and audiobooks is currently accessible only to US users.
If you are one of them, feel free to dive into various works by William Shakespeare or enjoy Sesame Street classics with your kids. You can also find out why everyone is obsessed with contemporary dark crime stories by Tony Anderson.
The titles are available through the Apple Books app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Free listens include modern renditions of Lyman Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz or Jane Austin’s masterpiece Pride and Prejudice.
Discover read-alongs for kids, cozy mysteries, and audiobooks for the whole family.
Those who are outside the US territory can still enjoy the Free Books section that Apple Books offers worldwide. The selection of titles, however, varies from one region to another.
In other news, Audible just dropped hundreds of audiobooks that you can stream even without an account.
