Lockdown? Dance through it! Free video classes by the Australian Ballet will make sure you stay in shape β even if you have two left feet.
Very few things in the world are as elegant, emotion-filled, yet fully controlled as the moves of a ballet dancer. However, it can be quite challenging to feel this grace and allure in our lives these days as we get to spend them at home in sweatpants and oversized t-shirts.
But the quarantine doesn’t have to turn you into a couch potato. The Australian Ballet, one of the world’s major international ballet companies, has just released a series of home dance lectures that will make sure your body stays en pointe even during the pandemic.

“With the Australian Ballet Centre closed and our Studios classes temporarily postponed, weβre introducing a new way to join our adult ballet classes. At Home With Studios allows you to learn ballet for free β wherever you are,” says the introduction to the course that is available in three levels, from beginner through intermediate to advanced.
Each class is 30 to 40 minutes long and designed for home practice. The authors say all you need is a bench, table or chair, and you’ll be performing the perfect pirouette in no time β even if if you have two left feet.
